We’re all Alabama fans for the next few weeks

Go GatorsI am an unabashed fan of the Gators of the University of Florida. I am a proud attendee of 6 entire weeks during the summer of 1985. I firmlyGator Girls 17 Pictures, Images and Photos believe every young man should spend a year in Gainesville.

Good times, good times…

Now, I live in Huntsville, AL. When people ask how I like it in Huntsville, my pat reply is that the only thing wrong with Huntsville is it is surrounded by Alabama.

As this post is written, ESPN’s College Gameday program is being broadcast from Baton Rouge, where the Alabama Crimson Tide (WTF is a Crimson Tide supposed to be anyway?… [shudder]…) is rolling into town to take on the Tigers of the Louisiana State University. Normally, not must-see TV for the average Gator fan especially with Florida heading into a potential trap-game against a better-than-usual Vanderbilt on the same day. Howver, Florida has a stranglehold on the SEC East title and Alabama has a stranglehold on the SEC West title, meaning these two teams will most likely match up in early December in the SEC Championship Game.

And right now, Alabama is the #1 team in the country. So, Florida fans, if you want to see our beloved Gators in the BCS title game, playing for the national championship, the ideal situation you can hope for is for Alabama to roll into Atlanta undefeated and still #1.  If Florida beats the #1 team in the country in their final game of the season, a CHAMPIONSHIP game, guess who goes to the title game?

It ain’t USC beating up on a weak PAC-10, buddy.

Gator fans, say it loud, say it proud:

Roll Tide.

roll tide

  8. I have to admit that I am a Vols fan since I live in Tennessee, but with the way they have been playing this year I haven’t had much to root for. So I have been rooting for Alabama and I hope the represent the SEC with a National Title. For the first time in my life ….Go Tide!

  22. It was sad to see Tim Thebeau so broken up on the sidelines when it was clear Alabama was going to go forward to the championship game.

When Tim said last year that he wanted to do it again, I think most of the world was behind him, he is such a class act.

    Unfortunately, that wasn’t to be.

Generally speaking, Alabama relies on big linemen and a great running game.

    Texas is a passing team.

So the championship game will come down to whether Alabama can get to Colt McCoy.

If Texas doesn’t score early and big, Alabama’s size will wear Texas down.

That means a low score in the first half will favor Alabama despite who’s ahead going into the third period.

Marie and I don’t know who you are rooting for in the big game.

However, may the best team win.

Regardlng Florida, they are going to play Cinci.

That ought to be an easy game for them.

Although, Cinci has been known to surprise in Bowl games.

Tell me what you're thinking...
