Man, this might be tough because I really like NC and have gone there on vacation my whole life.
But, I also love a challenge, especially when I get to show why Florida is the Alpha-State and every other state is our bitch.
Without further ado, 7 Reasons Florida is Better Than North Carolina
- North Carolina shares the Great Smoky Mountain National Forest with Tennesse. Florida has the Everglades all to itself.
- The major agricultural crop in Florida is Citrus. In NC, it’s tobacco.
- Florida was the third state to secede from the Union; NC was last. NC is indecisive.
- St. Augustine was established in 1565 and exists today. The lost colony at Roanoke Island was wiped from existence.
- Major League baseball teams in Florida: 2. Major League baseball teams in NC: 0
- Floridians dining in restaurants get to taste their food; North Carolinians dining in restaurants get to taste ciggies.
- Man first took to the air at Kill Devil Hills. Man first took to outer space at Cape Canaveral.
Ahem. Talk amongst yourselves.

Hmmm. I will use this as fodder for my Lake Norman Post. Great way to grab attention! I wonder why NC is drawing so many half-backers from Florida?
In the spirit of good fun (and better facts)
here’s a response from someone who’s spent most of their life in FL and has recently moved to the greater state of North Carolina.
1. NC gets to enjoy various aspects of the wonders of mountains, streams, forests, wildlife. FL gets to sink in a stinky swamp and get eaten by alligators.
2. Tobacco may kill, but it makes lots of money for NC. FL doesn’t even get to eat it’s own citrus. It all gets shipped out to other places in the country…like NC.
3. FL is indecisive…they can’t choose a language to speak.
4. Half of FL will be wiped from existence due to too many hurricanes.
5. Major League baseball teams in FL that people care about (including the owners):0
6. FL didn’t invent banning cigs in restaurants. Besides, good old fashioned home cookin’ cuts through any possible smell that might be.
7. If man didn’t first take air in NC, then there would be no space flight from FL.

As long as you’re not knocking SC I can gladly get into this debate :-p, but I must admit I’m definitely biased with a motorcyclist’s point of view.
1. NC > Florida anyday when it comes to the roads. Find me a good curvy windy section where I can fly up the mountain on my bike in Florida. I spend a majority of my weekends in NC on US 64, 28, and 107 winding through the mountains.
BUT….
Florida has one of the best motorcycle tracks within driving distance for me…Jennings.
2. Carolina Smokehouse in Cashiers, NC…best BBQ EVER! ’nuff said.
3. “The Tail Of The Dragon” at Deal’s Gap 318 curves in 11 miles starts in NC.
4. And of course if I wanted to start a “paid to blog debate” PU2B= NC vs. PPP = FL
SC is next.
Hmmm, I am pretty sure Florida is where America goes to die. So that pretty much trumps all.
OK, I guess I’m gonna have to set you folks straight (in the spirit of the initial post, mind you)!
Here’s why Texas trumps you both:
1. Texas has ‘way more national parks than either state. Oh, sure, Florida has the Everglades - but who else would want it? It’s swampland, for cryin’ out loud!
2. Our national crop here trumps you both. It’s “bragging” - something that’s always gonna be bigger!
3. Union? What Union?
4. You got lucky there. I’m pretty sure just a few degrees difference would have landed them fellers around Port Lavaca - and they’d have loved the winters here!
5. Baseball teams? Who cares! But I’m pretty sure we started the Wiener Dog Nationals.
6. Bah! We get to HUNT our own food!
7. Um, in case you didn’t notice - NASA is over here!
Now, I realize that many of you misguided folks will probably take exception to this summary. So be it.
But I’m just sayin’…

Both places have thier advantages. I live up north and travel to one or the other in the winter. I enjoy both states so each are better than a cold winter.
