VCDan found some great t-shirts inspired by the whole "Don’t tase me, bro" event.
The first one, with the stick figures, that’s my favorite. Christmas is coming up, y’all.

Man, I’ve been working my tail off on some new sites the past few weeks.
First, there’s the Hundred Day Head Start, a motivation/support/accountability site dieting and exercising. This is going very well, we’re getting really good traffic and incoming links, and the attention is very motivating for me, helping me stick to my diet. I’m really excited.
I’ve also been moving my mother’s small business website over to my hosting account and updating the site. It still isn’t ready for prime time, but it’s already a big improvement in terms of SEO-readiness than the former site, which was put together by an outfit that charged her 3x the going rate for design and hosting. If you’d seen the source code and meta tags, you’d have been as angry as I was about these guys. Simple, easy things that would take them 10 seconds to do, they wanted to charge $50. Anyway, the site is The Paper Porch, and again, it isn’t ready for prime-time yet, but we’re getting there. My mother doesn’t want to have to check her email for inquiries, so I REALLY need to get her over that!
Finally, I’m hosting and developing a site on a volunteer basis for a gifted-student advocacy group at my daughter’s school. Another one that is not ready for prime-time yet, but we’re getting there as well. I hate the template, but someone with a vagina over-ruled me. I think I have her convinced to switch to a better template, but the plugins I need to use won’t be supported by the better template for a couple more weeks. The site is St. Johns Gifted.
Check ‘em out. I’ve been pretty busy with them, but I can see where my tasks on the last two will be wrapped up in the next week or so.

Are you a Sports Trivia Junkie?
Filed Under Interesting, Sports | 1 Comment
I have to admit - I like my trivia and think I’m pretty decent at it. I mean, I’m no Fab or Colleen, but I can hold my own.
So, I was checking out a sports trivia site called Triviafix, and figured "Why not make it a challenge - I’m a Jags fan, so let’s try Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s Trivia". I’m trucking along - Q. Seattle vs. Tampa Bay, 1976, was called? A. Expansion Bowl; Q. Which Bucs player was named MVP at the 2006 Pro Bowl? A. Derrick Brooks; Q. What number did Gaines Adams wear?
Huh? Who’s Gaines Adams?
So yeah, it’s challenging.
Questions are submitted by Triviafix community members. Members can compete head to head or create teams and have team competitions. There are scoreboards for every category and subcategory page, so if you’re a Tampa Bay expert you could top the charts for Tampa Bay trivia even though you may not have broad sports trivia knowledge. What’s so cool about that?
Triviafix awards prizes to top players in all the sports categories.
Yes, you get a chance to win something for all that so-called useless information your wife or mother tells you is a waste of your time!

Need Craigslist Help
Filed Under Uncategorized | 1 Comment
I’ve been asked by my employer to sell some excess material on Craigslist. I’ve never done this, and could use some help. I know there are scams that involve cashier check fraud, but we’re just a little field manufacturing office, not set up to accept cash on behalf of the company.
I’m running a test with the smallest, least-expensive item we’re selling, to try to learn what works and what doesn’t for Craigslist. I’d appreciate any suggestions from anyone that’s done this before.

How about a little good news today?

Great story about an 8-yr old kid that threw away his prized football signed by Michael "Does Mike Vick have to choke a bitch?" Vick. I also liked the way Mom handled it, in helping him decide that the best way to handle the situation and one I doubt I’d have thought of.

Mr. Fab is ready to go Big-Time!
Filed Under Great Blogs | 1 Comment
Mr. Fab is in the running for Best Humor Blog at the Blogger’s Choice Awards. He passed Dooce as of yesterday and is within striking distance of boobsandmydomainnameistoofreakinglong.com. And while I would love to see the emcee announce this as a “booby” prize ( get it, get it? I’m so punny…), one thing that separates Mr. Fab from the pack is his fearlessness. So, get on over there and VOTE, dern-it!

Football - Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Denver Broncos
Filed Under Football, Jacksonville, Sports | Leave a Comment
Oh, it was quite a big football weekend here in North Florida!
We’ll get to the Gators shortly; for now, I wanted to point to an article about the Broncos by Woody Paige at The Denver Post. He ain’t pullin’ any punches folks:
They were lucky the first two Sundays. They were lucky on the third Sunday they didn’t lose by the 1,000-0 score I predicted.
It was rather difficult for the Broncos to kick a winning field goal on the final play when they were behind by nine points. And on their behinds.
The previous week there was a half-hour postponement because of lightning. The Broncos needed an invasion of locusts Sunday.
…
Afterward the Broncos offered more excuses than the boy without his homework. The dog must have eaten their playbook. The Broncos said they have to look at the films. Wes Craven wouldn’t release those horror movies.
The final implosion occurred when the Broncos had fourth-and-5 at their 9-yard line with 4:19 left. They were within a touchdown. Jay Cutler threw down the middle to tight end Daniel Graham, who was more wide open than Wyoming.
Graham clutched the ball, then dropped it. "It’s a play I should make," he said. The 76,463 who got up to leave would agree.
Looks like Daniel, must be the clouds in my eyes.
- Elton John…
Which brings up the special teams, whose play would bring up lunch.
Domenik Hixon, as mentioned here the week before, should not be returning punts or kickoffs or pop bottles. It will be mentioned here again. He fumbled the second-half kickoff. Jacksonville recovered at the 18 and kicked a field goal for a 20-7 lead.
The Jaguars had a 42-yard kickoff return in the second quarter - without a fumble.
Jacksonville attacked Denver where it hurt - up the middle against defensive linemen and linebackers who were playing as if they had motor oil on their hands..
How important was that 12 minute drive in the first half? If the Broncos have one minute, two minutes moe in the fourth quarter, do they go for that idiotic 4th and 5 or do they punt? I don’t know about you, but I saw some momentum swinging their way after the Jags had a series of disasters in the red zone. And if the Broncos had converted that 4th down and marched downfield for the score, winning 21-20, it’s Del Rio on the hot seat for that 3rd down spike at the one - talk about completely losing track of where you are in the game!
I said it before and I’ll say it again: Winning solves sports marketing problems. The Jags will sell a few more tickets thanks to this game, for which they should thank the Broncos.

When Bloggers Gather

Colleen and the "team" at Sweet Ass Productions deserve a big hand for taking time off from their usual production of internet MILF porn videos to pull this together. Yeah right, with a name like "Sweet Ass Productions", you expect me to believe they do mainstream videos?
Pffffttt!
Cheryl and Fab really looked bored. I don’t know who the fat guy in orange is, but I hear the fat bastard is starting a diet and exercise program on September 23 as part of the Hundred Day Head Start.

You’re the pirate everyone else wants to throw in the ocean — not to get rid of you, you understand; just to get rid of the smell. Like the rock flint, you’re hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you’re easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!
